Updating Scripts
Updates are free for the life of every product you own. Here's the safe way to apply one without losing your configuration.
1. Back up your config
Copy the resource's config.lua (and any config/ folder) somewhere safe before touching anything. This is the file most likely to hold changes you've made.
2. Download the new version
Grab the latest zip from your Keymaster. It always reflects the current release.
3. Replace the resource folder
Delete the old resource folder and drop in the new one, keeping the same folder name so any references to it elsewhere on your server keep working.
4. Reapply your config
Diff your backed-up config.lua against the new one and carry your values across. Check the changelog in the product's README.md first, since new versions sometimes add options that didn't exist before.
5. Run any migration SQL
If the update includes an update.sql file, run it once against your database before restarting the resource.
6. Restart
Restart the resource and check the console. If you hit an error, it's almost always one of the cases in Troubleshooting.
